Islington Council, judged by Ofsted as “good” (March 2016), is looking for a Head of Adult Community Learning.  Based in Islington, you will work closely with the Director of Employment, Skills and Culture, to help shape and deliver the Service. 

We are looking to appoint a candidate with significant experience at a senior level, either in an FE or Local Authority background, a track record of raising standards and delivering an outstanding service, whilst working collaboratively with a range of partners.  We are looking for a candidate who has the experience, knowledge and proven ability to deliver significant change and someone who will be able to lead the Service through Devolution, improve opportunities for learning, self-development and employment progression and create a curriculum offer and provision more reflective of the demands of the labour market.  In addition, the candidate will have demonstrable, in-depth knowledge and understanding of quality measures across the FE/Adult Education sector.

The post holder will be responsible for the line management of the Quality Manager, MIS Manager and Learning & Development Manager (Marketing & Recruitment).
